Yamato Blast is a special type of weapon in the fanfiction Alliance of Pirates. It is specialized for destroying capital ships and space stations and is weak against small ships.
Description[]
Through the implementation of cutting edge quantum technology, this pirate-designed weapon creates an orb of pseudo neutrons as its projectile. Unable to interact with matter, the neutron orb can pass through any type of shield or Armor, and will decay into quarks when the effect of artificial Strong Interaction Force wears off, creating a massive explosion. The target point of this weapon is set by manipulating the timing of the neutron decay before it is fired, so that it explodes exactly as it passes through its target. Since the explosion is created from inside, defense is impossible.
As for regular ships, a single turn, sideswipe or use of booster would avoid the blast, rendering the threat to no more than a regular AMR bomb. However, any immobile targets, such as capital ships and space stations, will be instantly destroyed from inside.
Currently, people who know the existence of this weapon can be counted by one hand. When the inevitable days come as it falls to the wrong hands. Capital ships will completely vanish from the battlefield, and any coordinated space station can disappear on any day.
Trivia[]
· The name Yamato Blast is a reference of the uninteracable nature of the weapon, and the destruction of Japanese battleship Yamato, an event marking the end of the Age of Battleship.
· The magnitude and normal damage stats (this is the case when the blast detonates in empty space) is the same as that of the AMR Tormentor .
· If Keith's ship can be affected with EMP (as it is never implemented in the game), this weapon in combination with EMP would also instantly kill ships. (EMP is too broken for a story and should certainly be nerfed though)
· The damage when detonated inside an enemy in the statistics is the 32-bit integer limit, which is also what the GoF2 base game uses for enemy health points.
